Vrrooom vroom, an update!
I'm taking driving lessons with an actual driving instructor (as opposed to my long-suffering and ever so patient sister) and we start tomorrow. I hope to get my nerves under control. All I know is that his name is Liam, he's 50-something, and is supposed to be a drill sergeant. Good, 'cos I need it!
My test date is coming soon, and I know if I took it tomorrow I'd flunk. Each time I go out it's a little easier, but I still need loads of practice.
Let's not read too much into this, omen-wise, but I did come inches, mere inches away from running over the local parish priest last Thursday! I am visualizing success! Success!

When I learned to drive, my parents handed me over to a driving school... it was much easier for them and me. Way less stress in what is already a very stressful situation!
Clever parents! Crazy thing is... I do actually know how to drive. Just not a manual transmission on the "wrong" side of the road! I can't seem to coordinate all of those things together (clutch, driving on the left, roundabouts, merging on what seems to be the WRONG place). I surrender to the drill sargeant!
Should add that I am visualizing success re driving test, not success re hitting the priest next time!

perhaps you could practice u-turns or quick reverse next time you miss the priest
I remember driving with you. You are a good driver, all through the Canadian Rockies to Vancouver
