Any advice on getting rid of crap? I'm on a mission to get rid of stuff before I leave Brooklyn. I managed to move here with just 2 suitcases and 8 boxes of books... but now there's a whole apartment of crap. Crap everywhere. Sigh.

Been reading up on this and this....

I admit it. I'm getting very, very excited.

I think this might be a "be careful what you ask for" scenario. Day two of the transit strike and I am bored out of my tree. Bored, bored, bored. I'm pretty lucky - I have lots of comp time so I can take a couple days off. The office is covered by colleagues who live in Manhattan, and my boss is away so no big projects due next week.

Spent some of the enforced vacation reworking old photos -- let me know what you think? I'm happier with these pix as collages rather than in their original out of camera state.

Also worked on toning some other pix. I'd like to figure out how to replicate old tintypes with photoshop. I have a long way to go!

So sorry for the outrageously long silence. Here's the reason why: www.homeworkNYC.org.

I've been doing nothing else for the last 4 months; and for the last 2 months I've been working on the site day and night. Take a look around and let me know what you think.

Now that the site has launched I have a weekend of debauchery planned. We get underway with tomorrow's Santarchy. I've always wanted to go, and tomorrow's the day.

On Sunday I continue my quest for persian dried limes. I'm trying to recreate a delicious stew I had in a little Persian restaurant in Shepherd's Bush, 10 years ago. I tried substituting dried lemons in the recipe and it was not a pleasant experience. I've read there's an Iranian grocery on Madison in the 20s. Fingers crossed....

At long last I may finally finish painting my bedroom. The project began the last week of October and I'm still not done. As my darling nephew would say: YIKES!
