Still no visa.

If it doesn't come, I'll be off on various adventures that I hope will include:

• volunteering at the Nek Chand Foundation


• wandering around the Faroe Islands


• the valley of the fairy chimneys

It's a strange feeling, but if it does come I might be a bit sad... there's so little time and so much to explore....

I used to live in Ottawa. On very cold nights,when the bus was very, very late I always knew that make a bus appear all I had to do was light a cigarette. Of course, now I live in NYC with a 24/7 metro and I no longer smoke, but I'm going to try and work the old magic.

Here's my dilemma. My work visa runs out in about a month. The sad reality is that when it expires I have ten days to leave the country. For good. The paperwork for my visa renewal has been with the INS since last November, and I'm starting to worry.

So here's the magic: I'm going home tonight to start packing up my things. If this does the trick, the lawyers will call tomorrow and say my visa renewal has arrived.

In the meantime, I'm soliciting your opinions. If I have to leave America in July, where should I go? Please leave your votes in the comments tool. I have passport good for the European Union, if that helps, and also for Canada.
