Hooray. Another friday five:
1. What's the most daring thing you've ever done? Gosh, people at work read this blog! Okay, okay. Daring. Hmmmmmm.... Well, I volunteered first for critique in my colour darkroom class in December. That was pretty scary. I recently did an interview with the CBC; also scary. I went to the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi, by myself. I have a beautiful, large Celtic tattoo on my back - a 5 hour process, but well worth it. About 7 1/2 years ago I moved to NYC, alone. For a brief time I was into body piercing - the experience was at once joyful, painful, and frightening. (If you didn't get to see them you'll just have to guess: the exact geography lives on only in your imagination). I've been in love. That's probably the most daring thing I've ever done.
2. What one thing would you like to try that your mother/friend/significant other would never approve of? Move to Siberia for a year to learn Russian; travel around Russia taking photos of vanishing villages.
3. On a scale of 1-10, what's your risk factor? (1=never take risks, 10=it's a lifestyle) - I'd have to say I'm about an "8" ... is that high?
4. What's the best thing that's ever happened to you as a result of being bold/risky? I learned that being scared won't stop me from following my dreams.
5. ... and what's the worst? The worst part is the vulnerability and the fear.
